Father
Paul along with a team of professionals visited twenty-eight
countries around the world studying various programs for people with
challenges, interviewed leading professionals and documented his
findings in volumes, regarded as one-of-a-kind works in this sphere.
The International Team led by Father Paul attended the World
Congress on the Scientific Study of Intellectual challenges (Professional Conference), International League and Society On
Mental Handicap (an organization developed by a group of
parents) and the Asian Conference on Mental Retardation
(constituting parents and professionals) held in various countries. Father
Paul has developed an Experience Quotient Functional Approach
that has produced remarkable results in the area of child
development. Father
Paul's family-oriented, outcome-based approach was sought out by
professionals in various countries including Mexico, Poland, India
and many more. In
1981, Father Paul personally trained professionals in India and
also helped them to establish a training center to reach out to
needy families. In
continuing the tradition of introducing the "best
practices" programs to address the need of affected families,
Father Paul initiated the process of bringing a new system from
Munich, Germany to the United States in 1997. This
system, developed by Professor Dr. Hellbruegge of the University of
Munich on the basis of the principles of world-renowned renowned
pediatrician, Dr. Valec Vojta, emphasizes Early Diagnosis and Early
Intervention to overcome developmental delays in newborns and
infants. This
program was implemented in India in the year 1990 and was a
great success. The Social Pediatric Developmental
Rehabilitation program has also been implemented in 25 other
countries and has proven to be highly effective in serving children
with challenges. Dr. Johannes Meunzel, who was in charge of
implementing the program in India, is designated to implement the
program in the United States.
