A human being is a product of one’s organic make-up and one’s own experiences. Even though we cannot change our organic make-up, we can influence experiences through a systematic and scientific approach. This aspect is more significant when it comes to optimizing the developmental potential of a child with a handicapping condition. Maximizing the full potential of a child and optimizing achievements in life offer a promising paradigm shift to child development.

Fr. Paul Zahler, the founder director of NIDD, from his personal experience with children with developmental delays, over three decades in US and his regular study visits on a global basis created a new system called Experience Quotient.

Every child has a desire to have an enjoyable experience by maximizing experience and body interaction with the environment. This activity-based new child development system was developed by working with real people and natural environments. Here, instead of approaching a child’s growth and development only by their intellectual capabilities, the full potential of the child is given prime importance by involving all the functional abilities (movement, interaction, communication and understanding). This approach has proved that it enhances their growth and development through their physical and mental involvement in various activities.

NIDD, through its Experience Quotient Intervention Program, has successfully proved an effective child development program.
